1-Hour Roll recipe
3-1/2 – 4 Cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 Tbls yeast
1 egg
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup sugar
6 Tbls margarine or oil
2 Tbls Margarine (for butterfly-parker house style rolls)
2 Tbls Margarine (for butterfly-parker house style rolls)
Warm water and margarine/oil in microwave 30 seconds (more, if you are melting the margarine). Put sugar and salt in bottom of bowl. Add warm water mixture and mix together. Place yeast in measuring cup with a tsp of sugar and enough lukewarm water to cover the yeast. Set aside for about a minute to raise. Add approx 2 cups of flour to water mixture. Add the egg and mix. Add yeast and remaining flour. Let machine knead, adding a little flour to side of bowl to keep from sticking. Let raise in warm place 15-20 min. Then, on floured surface, roll out dough to ¼ - ½ in thick. Using a wide mouthed glass or large biscuit cutter, cut out circles. Melt & dip half in butter (other 2 TBSP from cube) and fold over, pressing seam together in one spot to seal. Raise 15 min. Cook 15-18 min at 350 degrees. Makes 21-24 rolls.
(Cinnamon Rolls in 1 hour (use above recipe- by substituting Milk for water and increasing the sugar to 1/2 cup)
